Broome County pitches waterfront plans

A presentation and public hearings on Broome County's waterfront development begin tomorrow.  You can see the first draft of the plan presented at 1:30 in the Vestal Town Hall, then comment on the plan at 6 p.m. at the Endicott Visitor's Center, or Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at the Windsor Community house, reports Debbie Swartz at the Press & Sun-Bulletin.

Local officials and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers are trying to figure out how to prevent flooding along the Mohawk River, reports Byron Ackerman of the Observer-Dispatch.

Remember when Verizon backed out of a data center project in western New York, with the implication being that it was instead choosing a Wyoming site for the facility?  Well now Rich Miller at Data Center Knowledge reports that the company has also backed out of the Wyoming deal.
