An Ithaca-based grocery shopping app has won the first ever Startup Labs competition to be held in the United States.
Rosie was announced as the winner of the competition at CenterState CEO's annual meeting today in Syracuse. The startup will take home $200,000 for the accomplishment.
Rosie and four other teams spent three weeks this winter at the Technology Garden incubator in downtown Syracuse working on their products. They beat out 97 applicants to get that far.
The five semi-finalists demonstrated their products to judges and investors back in February, but had to wait two months to find out the winner.
Rosie tracks what you buy frequently from the grocery store and helps you pick your groceries out online. Its founder and many of its employees are Cornell University students.
The four runners-up still received $30,000 in seed money.
