The Small Business Administration is bringing a free training program back to central New York for the third time.
The Emerging Leaders initiative, formerly known as e200, will run in 27 cities this spring. Syracuse is the smallest city to participate.
The program is open to small business owners who have open for at least three years. They get about 100 hours of training over a few months.
"What this program [does] is remove you and puts you in a mission observer perspective. And allows you to work on your business from a whole new perspective and how you need to grow," says Bernard Paprocki, district director for the SBA.
He says it was an easy choice to select Syracuse again.
"We’ve had such tremendous feedback from the results we’ve had from the previous two classes that it was automatic. In fact, we were the first city announced out of all of them nation-wide," Paprocki says.
Fifteen companies will be selected to take part in the program this year. Applications are due mid-March. The bi-weekly training begins at the end of April.
