A team of Rochester Institute of Technology students has launched Crazy Platez, a Rochester-themed game.
Players race against the clock to satisfy Rochesterians’ appetites by delivering plates and refilling their tank before they run out of gas.
Crazy Platez is now available on the Google Play Store for Android and the App Store for iOS.
According to RIT, the game was conceptualized in 2017 with guidance from RIT’s MAGIC Spell Studios and was developed by Noah Ratcliff of Columbus, Ohio, Aidan Markham of Rochester and Sam Cammarata of Holland, New York. All are majoring in game design and development.
“Crazy Platez is sort of our love letter to Rochester,” Ratcliff said in a statement. “Two-thirds of our team are transplants to Rochester, and we wanted to make something that reflected how much we love the city.”
In April, the team earned first place in the student developer category at the second annual New York State Game Development Challenge. Their game also was featured at the annual Game Developers Conference in San Francisco, according to RIT.
A launch party is scheduled for Jan. 25 at MAGIC Spell Studios.
