Tiahna Banks, age 13, recently participated in WSKG's essay contest on sustainable communities. She tackled one of upstate's biggest topics, the loss of domestic manufacturing.

Gilboa-Conesville Central School near Albany with one local exporter: her grandfather, Emil Banks. He makes unusual tools for outdoorsmen, and sells them online.
