Solar power makes a comeback in New York State
In the latest Innovation Trail report for New York NOW, we look at what a $57.5 million federal grant from the Department of Energy means for the Capital Region, and the state's solar industry.
An interesting side note to this story: the grant that the College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering (CNSE) came from the same pot of funding that officials at Kodak had been hoping to tap in order to lure New Jersey-based solar firm Natcore to the Rochester area. With those funds now in Albany, it looks like Natcore will need private investment to make the Rochester manufacturing facility a reality.
