Matt Hurlbutt named President and CEO for Greater Rochester Enterprise

Greater Rochester Enterprise, the local business development organization, says that Matt Hurlbutt has been named President and CEO.

Hurlbutt has been in an interim role since June after Mark Peterson left for a job in Illinois.

Hurlbutt has been with GRE since 2008, and was Chief Operating Officer before he was tapped to fill in as interim leader.

Search Committee Chair and UR President Joel Seligman says that, “Matt has the depth and breadth of experience critical to advancing GRE’s mission to attract new businesses and new capital investments to the Greater Rochester, NY region.”

GRE Chair Anne Kress says that Hurlbutt, “ has a unique combination of deal making and strategic planning expertise.”

Prior to joining GRE Hurlbutt had executive posts with Finger Lakes Wired and Rochester Works.
