The Buffalo Billion has given a giant boost to economic development around here, from renovations at Parkside Candy to the SolarCity plant in South Buffalo. Governor Cuomo is coming to town on Monday for the local version of his traveling State of the State message and is likely to announce Buffalo Billion Two.

Buffalo's tallest building has a new owner today, with Washington-based Douglas Development closing a deal to spend just over $12 million for the vacant 38-story One Seneca Tower.

Buffalo public schools are proposing to spend $56 million over the next three years for major upgrades of the district's computer system and providing a computer for every student.


There's been a big shakeup in Albany's management of major local economic development projects. Empire State Development has been given control of the construction of the Athenex plants, projects that have been stalled because the state hasn't been paying its bills.


The SolarCity complex in South Buffalo is getting intense attention from the Buffalo Fire Department, looking for safety in construction and operation in the future.
